Title of the Practice

One Word a Day 

   Objectives of the Practice:

The main objective of this best practice is to make the students get mastery  over English Vocabulary.The

Context When it is observed that the students  are feeling bore to improve their vocabulary, this idea has

come  o mind. Then  it has been planned in a systematic way.

The Practice

As part of the best practice, 50 words are selected for each semester. Every day one student has to write one

word with meaning on the black board displayed on wall of the Department of English which is accessible to

all the students. The students are instructed to go through the word and note down in their notebook. Later

they have to go through the dictionary and find out the pronunciation,  other meanings, synonyms, antonyms,

part of the speech of the word and usage. The students who do this exercise everyday will be exposed to

several words  that will enable them to improve their vocabulary.

Evidence of Success

Students are coming forward to participate in this activity and they are showing interest towards learning new words.

Problems Encountered and Resources Required

All the students are not coming forward to participate in this activity. Only some students are showing more interest.
