Started in 1983 with generous donations from philanthropists, common people, social workers, the college has been serving the most deprived sections of this part of the district. With meagre infrastructure facilities the college has been excelling in its responsibility in the furtherance of higher education in this backward area of the state of A.P.

Most of the students come from very poor rural background belonging to the highly deprived, marginalized sections of the society, namely, SC, BC, Minority communities. Initially located in the present Govt. Junior College, Udayagiri, it was shifted to its own buildings in a sprawling area of about 15 acres of land thanks to the donor Sri.SG.Khaja Moiddin, S/O.Rasool Saheb of Udayagiri and Mekapati brothers and other committee members for generously mobilizing the required corpus fund of rupees two and a half lakhs in 1983. Sri. Malakondaiah, social worker and activist, made a concerted effort at every stage of bringing things to reality.

It provides excellent educational opportunities that cater to the needs of the community and help students meet economic, social, and environmental challenges to become active participants in shaping the world of the future.
